Heard a full retell of the adventure the folks were on yesterday. They hitched multiple trains, shared a cab and hiked up 3 kms to reach the top of the little hill station outside of Bombay. As the selfies and the pictures poured in, my wanderlust bug awoke and ruffled its feathers too. It feels like a long time since I traveled although I’m back from the summer vacation for only a month now.
Their impromptu trip brought to me the realization that we are what our parents are. I had to have got my love for photography from mom. The desire to travel had to have come from daddy. I recall the number of trips we’ve had as kids, and the extensive knowledge the man brings about every state in the country.
As they begin their life of retirement, I pray that many such impromptu trips accentuate their love for travel. And as they travel to new exotic lands, a daughter’s dreams are colored bright.
“What? You want mum and dad to travel more? Then, where will I go? Be stuck with you? :0″ – Scotch
